Myristoyl hexapeptide-16 is categorized as protein stimulating peptide. It enhances the production of skin protein called keratin. Keratin is the basic skin protein that makes the key structure of skin, nails, and hair. It forms an outer layer of skin and plays a major role in the protection of under layers of the skin.

Myristoyl hexapeptide-16 is a multifunctional peptide that is most commonly found in eyelash serums but has also found its way into hair, beard, fingernail, and skin care products. Its keratin-stimulating properties can help reduce TEWL and strengthen skin, making it excellent for products designed for anti-aging and increasing the thickness of skin. These same properties can be used to help keep hair, eyelashes, and beards firmly rooted. The result is a fuller beard, longer lashes, and reduced hair loss.
